Community

An intentional learning community encourages, empowers and helps people to do amazing things. It is the foundation of a successful school.

We at Greenfields Academy strongly believe in developing closely connected learning communities that are intentional about their development and their future. Having clear covenants between all members of the community makes for a more transparent and more effective environment.Info-Session-Button

Greenfields Academy makes a covenant with each child that will lead to that child to:

  • Begin a hero’s journey.
  • Learn to be curious and embrace life-long learning.
  • Discover their most precious gifts, along with the dedication it takes to develop real talent.
  • Understand the importance of a strong character.
  • Cherish the arts, the wonders of the physical world and the mystery of life.
  • Treasure economic, political and religious freedom by exploring the American experiment.

Greenfields and the parents will also create a covenant each semester. Parental commitments may include:

  • Gradient-girl-runningWork on an active learning project (a book or self-improvement project) to discuss with their children.
  • Develop an annual family plan and having monthly family meetings to check progress.
  • Attend at least two parent meetings each semester.
  • Respect the students’ work space and rules.
  • Participate in the learning community by mentoring a child or developing a project.

As a community, we will hold each other accountable to these covenants. We also believe we need to constantly assess how things are going for everyone. Parent and student satisfaction surveys will be collected weekly and bonuses for teachers will be based on end-of-semester student and parent satisfaction ratings.
